Temporary Resident Program

There are numerous ways to apply for a temporary resident permit in Canada. The list is as follows:

  • The visitor visa is a type of temporary permit that allows the visitor to stay in Canada for up to 6 months. This visa can be extended while being in Canada and the duration will be authorized by the visa officer at their discretion.

  • This visa allows international students to come to Canada and study different programs in Canada.

  • This type of work permit is for students who graduate from a public post-secondary institution and gives them the right to earn Canadian work experience.

  • This type of work permit gives the authorization to work in Canada for a specific employer. In this case, the employer would need an LMIA, and the candidate would apply for a work permit on that LMIA basis.

  • Principal applicants who are in Canada can apply for their Spouse’s or Common-Law’s open work permit if they meet certain requirements.

  • Applicants whose Permanent Resident applications are in process can apply for this type of work permit.
